Too Early Breakdown: Self Aware

‘22-’23 Record: 13-16

We’re a third of the way into this season, so I want to take a look at what my record is so far, and how that 13-16 breaks down so I know what to look for.

Dogs: 7-6

Home: 3-1

Road: 4-5

Favorites: 2-4

Home: 0-2

Road: 2-2

Pick ‘em: 0-1

Overs: 0-3

Unders: 4-2

Okay, so no Overs ever again. Duh. Stay away from Home Favorites. No shit.

We have room to grow, and neurotic levels of self-awareness is a good start.

Saints @ Cardinals: (Cardinals -1, O/U 44)

Last week was DeAndrEve for the Cardinals and they sucked to dick the whole game. They didn’t do anything on offense against an abysmal defense for 60 minutes. It was brutal.

People joke about how bad Kyler is on Call of Duty’s 2xp weekends. I officially subscribe to that. I’m going to ride on that one the same way that I ride for Tom Brady playing terribly once it gets past his bedtime.

The thing is: Thursday is not the weekend.

Woah.

I also like DeAndre coming back here. He was pissed off about getting suspended, maybe that anger was due to the chemicals, maybe it was rational anger, but I really really like the performance from an angry Nuke. He’ll play a big part in what I believe will be a Cardinals win.

The Cardinals' defense from last week has me feeling some type of way.

They did a pretty good job stopping the Seahawks from scoring a shitload, which is good.

But why?

Was it because the Cardinals’ defense actually stepped up and played the way they should against a below-average quarterback?

Or was it because the Seahawks realized that the way they can keep other teams from scoring, is by running the ball and just not letting the other team hold onto the ball?

I don’t know man. Pete Carroll is an old guy who’s not really willing to change the way that he does things, so the good Cardinals Defense v. Smart Coaching question is a coin flip for me.

All that being said, the Saints STINK BABY. They’re hurt. They’re poorly coached. And they’re carried by Taysom Hill and a good defensive line.

That’s not something that really scares me when it comes to a team with the good potential that the Cardinals have.

As a matter of fact, I’m going to put my money on the team with the potential.

Cardinals -1.

Go Birds.
