Too Early Breakdown: I Know How it Feels Javonte

‘22-’23 record: 9-9

Nappy Roots once said,

“We're gonna have a good day

And all my homies gonna ride today”

Those homies must not include Javonte Williams because he’s not doing any riding today.

Javonte, I know you’re reading this, and I have something to say to you:

I know things are looking grim. I tore my ACL last December. It doesn’t get any better. It gets worse and your life is going to take a considerable downturn in the comfort department. It will not get better and nothing will ever be the same. I know you’re a superstar freak of nature athlete and I was a guy who tried to be a walk on athlete at a school in the OVC, but me and you Javonte… Me and you are made of the same thing: blood, muscle, and ligaments that are as weak and fragile as soggy frosted flakes. Again, Javonte, nothing will be the same and it will always hurt to get out of bed from here on out.

Colts @ Broncos (Broncos -3.5, O/U 42)

Alright, Jonathan Taylor is out. I think that’ll matter, but not as much as you think because the Colts weren’t using him, which is more than criminal. It’s some shit they should’ve covered in the Geneva Conventions.

“Yeah, no torture and stuff like that. Also if there’s an NFL team with a generational talent you should give him the ball no less than 29% of the time, especially if the quarterback is 37 years old and washed.”

I think that’s more than fair.

The Colts defense is tight-assed at best and adequate at worst. They’re allowing 21.3 points per game. The big thing here is that they’re shutting down running games and only allowing 89.5 rushing yards per game.

That’s big for two reasons.

Reason 1 is that the Broncos' runningback situation is atrocious. Javonte Williams is as good as dead and you can make Melvin Gordon fumble with a strong yawn. The next guy up for them is Mike Boone and Latavius Murray. I’m not scared by that, and I’m not scared by that because of Reason 2.

Reason 2 is that Nathaniel Hackett is a dipshit. If Melvin Gordon continues to fumble, any other coach would take him out. I have ZERO faith that Nathaniel would bench him. The guy also can’t call a game. He hired a guy to do half of his in-game job. He hired a guy to tell him how to manage the game. Hey Broncos. That guy should just be the coach. I guess Frank Reich is a dumbass too, but Hackett is so much dumber.

Other than that, Randy Gregory is hurt and Russell Wilson has done nothing but show everyone that he has Big Loser Energy.

I have no faith in the Broncos making this anything more than a close game.

Colts +3.5

Go Birds.
