Too Early Breakdown: Nasty

‘22-’23 Record: 11-13

Well, that was a brutal weekend. The Giants did it. My Unders went over. The Lions went back to doing Lions things. Luckily we did well with the Sunday night pick.

Here’s the thing for this Thursday night game:

In my preseason straight-up picks I have gone 51-23-1. That’s pretty good given the chaos that has happened in the past 5 weeks. Luckily for us, this Thursday night game is a pick ‘em. I’ll take the 68% win rate that I’m on.

Commanders @ Bears (Pick, O/U 38)

Man, I don’t know.

The Commanders are all kinds of bad in all kinds of ways, and kind of good in only one way.

Riverboat Ron is an absolute joke. Brian Robinson is their most electric running back and that’s because he got shot. Their defense is abysmal. Carson Wentz has a second job being a Heimlich Maneuver training dummy because of how often he chokes.

The only good thing is their Wide Receivers, and even that is kind of bad. Dotson is out and Carson is allergic to throwing the ball to Terry McLaurin.

The Bears can run the ball. So that’s cool I guess.

They’re the least juicy, most dry bones, boring, and lame offense in the league.

“But Jake, what about last Thursday with the Colts and the Broncos?”

Well, at least with those two teams we get to laugh at Russ’s terrible decision making and we’re on the edge of our seats when Matt Ryan gets hit because he might actually die.

Justin Fields is lame.

That being said, Washington has allowed 3 passing touchdowns to runningbacks. That's a league-high. Also, Carson has the pocket presence of 13-year-old me doing training camp drills on Madden ‘04.

Those are my edges. They’re not much, but they’re edges.

The bears win?
