Too Early Breakdown: Go Birds

‘22-’23 Record: 18-21

Well, that’s not what I wanted. We went 2-3 last week and only 1-3 on Sunday. There were finally games with points in all the places that I didn’t want there to be places with points. Not great.

Tough weekend.

On top of that my dog had some hangnail kinda thing on his thumb and we had to take him to the vet to get it taken care of. I don’t hate the vet, but I do hate people at the vet. It’s really not that hard to have your dog not shit inside of a building, it’s even easier to have your dog not shit inside of a building twice… And welp… here we are, with this lady’s Chow Chow shitting inside of the vet twice.

You might be thinking, “maybe the dog was at the vet to help with stomach issues?”

Nope. 2 reasons:

1. He was there to get Neutered.

2. The poops were very solid.

Luckily we get the potential for an absolute gashing this Thursday.

Eagles @ Texans (Eagles -14, O/U 45)

Tied the colts. Lost to the Broncos. Lost to the Bears. Lost to the Chargers by a lot. Beat the Jags and only scored 13 points. Decimated by the Raiders. Lost to Malik Willis.

That’s your 1-5-1 2022 Houston Texans.

Beat the Lions when the Lions were the most dangerous. Obliterated the Vikings. Dominated the Commanders. Came from down 14 to beat the Jaguars by 8 (really 15 but garbage time happens). Beat the Cardinals. Blew through the Cowboys’ defense. Curb stomped the Steelers.

That’s OUR 7-0 2022 Philidelphia Eagles. Go Birds.

I imagine this game will happen on the ground for the most part. The Texans have one of, if not the absolute worst rushing defenses in the league. Damien Pierce is a rookie running back, and he is the only threatening player on the Texans’ entire roster.

Did you know that the Eagles have the best offensive line in the league? They do. And Miles Sanders is going to feast. Shit, we’ll probably even see what Trey Sermon can actually do by the end of the game.

I understand that there is the potential for this to be considered a trap game.

I don’t think that’s the case here for a few reasons.

1. The Eagles aren’t coming off a big emotional win. They crushed the Steelers and sat their starters for the entire 4th quarter. So it is a short week, but they have rest.

2. Jalen Hurts is from Houston, and it’s going to be his first time playing in Houston. He’s going to ball out and not put anything in jeopardy.

3. Jalen Hurts won’t let the Eagles look past any opponent ever.

The only thing I’m frightened about here is a backdoor cover because 14 is a lot of points. But can Davis Mills do anything to move the ball? Probably not.

Eagles -14. 42-7.

Go Birds.
